Antique Gorham & Co coin silver Mary Todd Lincoln tea and coffee set, 1861.
Gorham & Co had made this set and it was gifted to Mary Todd Lincoln during the Lincoln administration. The set comprises one coffee pot, one tea pot and one hot water pot, a lidded sugar bowl and milk jug and a tea chalice with a gold wash interior. All the pieces having overall repousse and strapwork design, the lids having beaded finials. The set seems to have never been used, the silver is bright & vibrant and the hand chased details are crisp.
The bases are stamped with Gorham & Co lion, anchor and a gothic letter G (used from 1852-1865) and the pattern number “30”. Condition is excellent, total silver weight is 154 oz. Please see sizes and weights of each piece below.
