Vintage Design
Exquisite pair of Directory Style armchairs, made around 1910 in France. Simple structure, in richly carved and polychrome white wood; Newly upholstered with Pierre Frey fabric. Straight lines in the purest Louis XVI style, presenting an enormous contrast between the completely straight skirt and the curved backrest.
This curved backrest is known as “for the queen” characteristic of the Directory Style. It rolls back into an elegant curve outlined at the ends with a carved conch shell. In the center, a large daisy framed with geometric cartouches. This elegant backrest is taken directly from Ancient Egypt and Greek frescoes.
For its part, the legs imitate the columns of classical architecture thanks to the grooves, and they even also have a square pillar at the top that joins it with the structure of the armchair, in the purest Louis XVI style. It is a large chair that does not have armrests. Newly upholstered with an exquisite Pierre Frey fabric, in light greens and soft orange, a maison founded in 1935 in Paris by the designer of the same name.
Very special for their shape and large size, they are truly exquisite and refined. with a classic and timeless style, these armchairs can be placed in both living rooms and bedrooms. Comfortable and sophisticated elegance.
