The chair is profusely hand carved with foliage, flowers and birds. It has a central oval panel to the spoon shaped scrolled back, showing a lion or mythical beast. The shaped seat frieze is pierced and carved, with a leather upholstered seat above. Standing on carved legs depicting mythical beasts.
The seat has been resprung and reupholstered in a brown hide leather.

The chair is sturdy and has no loose joints. The back has some very slight movement to it, but this is normal, and due to the design.
