Fine example of a richly colored unique handwoven cashmere pashmina. Created in the historic region of Kashmir India, high in the Himalayas, where the Pashmina goats range and grow this famously soft and warm wool is gathered gently by the herders, then hand dyed, spun and woven into this unique Tree of Life design by an artisan weaver using 15th century old hand looms and jacquard weaving techniques that were introduced by the Mughals after travels along the famous silk trade route. This extremely soft and warm in hand coverlet or oversized shawl has an arabesque floral and leaf border design with a center motif of trees, adorned with woodland birds and animals in a 6 color jacquard weave. It features warp and weft hand knotted fringe edge. Woven in rich colors, it is a one of a kind design made for royalty. Hand chosen in Jodhpur on our 2019 India Trip.
