The figure of the boy Jesus is standing and follows the iconography established by Montañés himself in 1606-7 through the Sacramental Brotherhood of the Sagrario Church in Seville. Jesus is standing, naked, getting ready to be dressed. He has sweet, classical features and perfectly combines the realism of the form with the idealisation of the face. The posture of the body, with the weight supported on the left leg, and the right leg slightly forward, is typical of Montañés.
