Fine inlaid sandalwood mirror with elaborate bone and ebony detailing to fretwork top, deep mitered sides and scalloped, arched base. Original mirror inside a black and white chevron surround, and featuring a vine inlaid tambour door that can be retracted to an open position or brought down into a closed position. Suitable to be wall hung or used in a stand for display on a table top.
Quite possibly conceived to conform with vashtu shastra, a traditional Hindi system of architecture which suggested mirrors should be covered when one is sleeping.
