This antique Japanese cigarette case is signed by an unknown artist, and dates to approximately 1920 and done in an Anglo-Japanese style. This damascene styled cigarette case is done with oxidized metal and decorated with a well executed Japanese landscape on the front. The back corner appears to be signed by the artist with a small notation of “24 Karat Gold” underneath. The hinges and clasp work well and as intended.
