This antique cast and cold-painted inkwell has no maker’s marks, but presumed to have been made in Austria in circa 1900 in the Anglo-Indian style. This ornately cast figural sitting camel has been ornately hand-painted in a realistic style and the ‘hump’ is hinged and contains a glass insert. This inkwell is nicely executed and made to be viewed from all sides, so can function as simply a sculpture.
