This superb deep relief carved hardwood Raj period Indian wall panel has its original hardwood carved frame. It is an interesting and special piece. Deeply hand carved from a single piece of rich dense timber approximately 9cm thick. It shows an interesting scene of an oxen train transporting people and commodities. At the bottom, there is a harnessed cart being pulled by a pair of oxen with three people riding on board the two wheeled cart along a mountainous track and above there are two single lead oxen both carrying provisions and one with a seated passenger. The three dimensional view created by the artist Carver is most impressive. The framed panel is in very good condition and has a rich patination and age related colour and would be a very eye catching addition to any wall.
