This antique inkwell was made by the well known English owned Arthur & Bond of Japan in approximately 1900 in a period Anglo-Japanese style. The cube shaped bottle of the inkwell is a clear lead crystal that has been covered with elaborate chased and repousee decoration in sterling silver depicting a pond scene with water lilies, which is accented on the hinged top. The inkwell is clearly stampted on the bottom with the “ARTHUR&BOND” maker’s signature and “Yokohama” to indicate the country of origin and “Sterling”.
